The Funktion - a weekly live band burlesque show in Toronto - is excited to announce the debut of its 8 week beginner burlesque workshop series. Leaning into the improvised aspect of burlesque, workshop participants will gain experience and knowledge of classic burlesque tease and the fundamentals of improvised movement while working with a live band. Seasoned local Toronto performers will lead various burlesque concept classes including "Bumps & Grinds", "Posing with Strength", "Clowning", and even an intro to "Waacking". Students will immediately be immersed in the style of The Funktion show as class will take place on stage at the Black Pearl with The Funktion House Band accompanying each and every class.
