What PRIDE means to me

What PRIDE means to me

We are so proud to work with exceptional artists who help bring the vision of Appeeling to life.  Their artistry and inspired creativity shares a vision of our brand beyond what we could have imagined.   While the images are powerful, so too are their voices.  During Pride Month we want to share what Pride means to everyone.  Pride is personal and each story is powerful.    We encourage you to share YOURS!

This is Ivory's statement on what Pride means, personally. "As a white passing, straight passing, Queer woman of colour, PRIDE is vital for me to stand up and be counted alongside my vibrant Queer community. Many of us live as "other" in our day to day lives - and PRIDE is a time of taking up space (when we're often told not to) of being loud (when we're often made quiet) and most of all, owning who we are and all that encompasses (despite the hetero normative pressures of society which tell us we don't belong). Pride is a time to show up - show out- and to recognize all who stand shoulder to shoulder on the margins of society. It is a time to amplify queer, non-binary and trans voices and issues and fight for our rights and freedoms which are woven into the fabric of daily life."
